Cruisin' + Born to Ride = Happy Dad!

My dad, who is a motorcycle nut, sure liked the birthday card I made for him last weekend!

Everything here is from the Cruisin' paper pack and the Born to Ride stamp set!  I used Black, Grey Wool and Cranberry cardstocks as well as a B&T paper from that pack (which looks like a map).  I also used one of the trim-off borders from one of the B&T papers, that's the horizontal band below the motorcycle.  Note that I cut out the shape for the "Feel the Wind" stamp with my CTMH Art Philosophy Cricut cartridge.  I still can't get over how easy that makes it!

Giveaway Results!

As another lovely weekend comes to a close, it's time to make someone's day!  If you read this post, you know that just by clicking a few times, you could have been entered to win your choice of either a CTMH Art Philosophy Cricut cartridge OR a $99 shopping spree in the Spring/Summer 2012 Idea Book!  How easy is that?!

Thank you to everyone who entered!  The more "likes" I have on Facebook and the more people who follow my blog, the more often I can do these.  And I do LOVE doing them!  So please keep spreading the word.  I choose not to be a high pressure salesperson, so your word of mouth helps me more than you could know.  Even small or infrequent orders help me keep my kid fed and clothed... and may help us adopt a second time, too!  I appreciate you!

Now a quick note before we get to the good stuff.  If you aren't the winner this time please don't despair!  I will be doing another one of these in either July or August!  Make sure that you check my Facebook page on a regular basis, since on average only 20% of fans see any particular post from a business page these days!

Just to be completely fair, I numbered each entry and then used to choose the winner from all eligible entries.  Turns out the winning entry was #2, which belongs to...

Sarah B!

Sarah, please contact me either through Facebook or at this email link to let me know if you'd like the cartridge or the shopping spree!

Thanks again to everyone who entered the drawing - and stay tuned for some consolation prizes and further giveaways!

My First Pemberley Project and NEWS!

I must confess something to you, my crafty friends.  I must show my cards, if you will.

When the new Spring/Summer 2012 Idea Book was released a few months ago, I heard a lot of buzz about the new Pemberley paper pack.  I heard almost as much excitement about Pemberley as I did about Stella.

But I didn't order it.

In fact, I really didn't like it.

And then, I ordered a few to have on hand for my customers.  And when I flipped through it for the first time, I decided I had been wrong before.  This kit is gorgeous!  I love the colors and the patterns in it, especially the hexagons on one of the B&T's in the kit.  And I always love when new kits come out that can be used for masculine cards and layouts.

So the other night when I found myself needing to make a special thank you card (yes, for a man!), I reached immediately for Pemberley.  After flipping through one of Jeanette Lynton's fabulous - but now discontinued, booo! - inspiration books for layouts, I came up with this.

All papers used are from Pemberley.  I started with Indian Corn Blue for the card itself, then made the front of the card using two different B&T's as well as Outdoor Denim and Indian Corn Blue.  For the center element, I used my CTMH Art Philosophy Cricut cartridge (which is, by the way, the only cartridge my Cricut has seen since the day I got it!) to cut out the shape, then stamped the sentiment using one of the stamps from the February SotM.

Even the horizontal band with the ribbon slide is from Pemberley!  One of the things I love about CTMH papers is that when you trim off the margin piece that identifies the paper, the other side has a design on it that coordinates with the kit it came in!  So that piece actually shows the kit name on the other side, the colors in the kit, etc.  I decided to use it in place of ribbon on this card.  I'd like to say it was some greater creative plan, but the truth is I didn't have any ribbon that looked 'just right' with this design!  I think the ribbon slide looks really cute with it anyway.

For the inside of the card, I attached a piece of Desert Sand paper (you guessed it, from Pemberley!) and stamped it with the thank you message using my Little Bit of Everything stamp set.  To pull the design over from the front and give the inside a little personality, I cut out two of the hexagons from the sheet I used on the front and attached those on either side of the stamp.

I hope the recipient likes it!

Now for the NEWS!  June is a huge month at CTMH.  I haven't been this excited to share specials with you in a long time.  First and best of all, it's STAMPAGANZA!!

Yup, you read that right.  Buy any two stamp sets at regular price and receive a third (of equal or lesser value) FREE!!  This is the time to stock up on your basics!  Do you need alphabets?  How about some great summer stamps to help document great times?  Maybe just get a little sentimental.  No matter which sets you choose, you'll get a free one for every two you buy!

As if that wasn't exciting enough, don't forget about the Stamp of the Month!  The June set is really adorable!  You know the drill - it's yours for just $5 with a qualifying order (or $17.95 on its own).  Don't dilly-dally with this one!  I'll be surprised if there's enough stock to make it all the way through the month with it!

As always, feel free to contact me to buy, or place your order right on my website.  Whatever is easy for you is best for me!

One last thing to mention - the drawing will be held later tonight (just in case we have any eleventh-hour entries!).  If you haven't entered yet, get busy!!  I will post the results tomorrow.
